K.P.Sudheera is a prolific and renowned writer from Kerala adorning an impeccable place in Malayalam Literature with great acclaim and acceptance among a large chunk of favorite readers. Her much celebrated literary works embody her essential honesty which is explicitly noted in the manner of writing as in her vision of life, love, and relationship.

Her wide array of books mostly of fiction genre of high social relevance with intensity and complexity of love and passions hallmarked by the intrinsic musical undertone of heart touching rhythms of love could influence the hearts and thoughts of readers. Her stories, by and large, are cast in different socio-cultural themes and backgrounds, in the form of a passionate, romantic outburst of overwhelming emotions where loving hearts fall head over heels immersed in the eternal beauty of love and humanism that leaves a lasting impression.

She has travelled across the globe in 37 countries in connection with seminars and conferences. She was so passionate in travelling as she was so keen to meet and talk with people from various background and cultures, for making speeches and for the empowerment of women all over the world. Child abuse, dowry death and violence against women were the key subjects of her numerous campaigns all over India and abroad.

Born in Kozhikode, the cultural hub of Indian State of Kerala, widely known for its unfailing bondage for literature and music, K.P. Sudheera hails from a prominent family with significant political and cultural awareness. She is the daughter of K.C.Padmanabhan and P.T Saradha. She did her schooling at BEM Girls High School, Kozhikode and had completed her graduation in B.Sc. Zoology from Providence College, Kozhikode. She worked as the Manager in Kerala Gramin Bank and retired in 2016.

Sudheera has written 80 books in Malayalam. Her published works fall under various literary genres such as novels, collection of stories, child literature, travelogues, poems, memories, essays, translation works, etc.

To her privilege, she has written 12 Novels, 19 short story collections, 10 Children’s literature, 13 Collection of poems, 11 Travelogues, 3 Translations, 3 Biographies, 6 Memories, 1 Essay and 1 Anthology

Novel
In her novels, she explores how mankind overcome their immense life problems and how they cope with social changes.

Her first novel ‘Ganga’ is about the holy places of Ganga and Kashi and the history and social life around it. Her second novel ‘Ajeevanantham’ is about the social and emotional environment of people in jail for life imprisonment. She has visited various jails in India to collect realistic data for this novel.

‘Pranaya Sameera’ is an epic novel by Sudheera. The entire life of Lord Krishna and the dharma battles are reconceived in it. ‘Smriti’ is the story of a self-made girl, a great dancer, who nurtures her creativity against a thousand unswerving oppositions. ‘Nashta Smrithiyude Kalam’ (In the Times of Dementia) is the story of a grandmother who lost her memory due to Alzheimer’s.

‘Swargavathil’ (The Gate to Heaven) is the story of the expatriates in gulf region. The novel is about the hard life experiences behind their smiling faces, life in labor camps, etc. The theme of the novel is interconnected to the true life of a great man, living in Dubai, who has dedicated his life to help the expats bring the remains of their beloved ones back to their motherland by fulfilling the complicated formalities behind the task. She has travelled in and around Dubai with this man to witness herself the heart-touching realities that she had later unfolded in this novel.

Sudheera’s latest novel ‘Pranaya Doothu’, is an adaptation of Kalidasa’s famous Meghadootu. The novel proclaims that nature and humans are not two. It is written, after lot of research on the subject, in the times of Corona virus and the panic and tension it caused throughout the world.

Children’s Literature
Sudheera’s stories for children explore the minds of youngsters and elucidate how the home and school are responsible in molding their character. ‘Blue Whale’ is a novel about a young generation that fall into the trap of information technology. The most recent book ‘Kunjol’ is a story of goodness outside the country that incorporates agriculture, paddy fields and folk songs. The novel is a reminiscent of the culture and value of agriculture forgotten by the younger generation.

Biographies & Translations
Her biographies of Sir Muhammad Iqbal, Khalil Gibran, the Njanapeed winner M. T Vasudevan Nair, Vayalar Rama Varma and O.N.V Kurup are the result of her extensive studies about the life of these famous personalities. Her memories about Indian writers shows her good relationship with many Indian and foreign writers. Her biography of the great singer S.P Balasubramaniam is soon to be released.

She had translated Khalil Gibran’s Letters and Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath into Malayalam.

Sudheera’s works had been translated to Hindi, English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, etc.

Awards
She has bagged more than 50 awards from national level as well as from abroad. In 2017 Government of Kerala honored her by giving away Vanitha Ratna Puraskar in the name of Kamala Surayya the legend of Malayalam literature.

She has travelled different European countries with a group of women writers organized by AIPC (AlI India Poetess Conference). In July 2019 she was awarded Miss AIPC Europe 2019.

Previously she was working in Kerala Gramin bank in the position of Manager.With AIPC I have visited ten European countries in July 2019 and she was awarded Miss Aipc Europe ,2019. (Aipc-  AlI India potess conference). England, France ,Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Leichtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Vatican.
